     * help students make connections between future interests and academic choices and achievement
     * build awareness of postsecondary options

The Career Pathway Summer Program is for students currently in grades 6-8 (in the 2022-23 school year) to explore the robust Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs offered at Englewood High School and Colorado's Finest High School of Choice.  The program will offer students a hands-on introduction to various fields and CTE programs including audio/music production, broadcasting and video production, cosmetology, culinary arts, engineering, and urban agriculture.

During the nine-day program, students will get hands-on experience in six of our CTE pathways - digital audio/music production, broadcasting and video production, cosmetology, culinary arts, engineering, and urban agriculture. Students will spend one day in each CTE pathway, rotating through all pathways during the first six days of the summer program. During the last three days of the summer program, students will choose one pathway to engage in further exploration and complete a final project.

Students will be assigned to a group for the first six days of the program. This group will start at either EHS or CFHSC and will spend the first three days of the program (Tuesday, May 30 - Thursday, June 1) experiencing three of the CTE pathways offered at that school.  On Friday, June 2, Monday June 5, and Tuesday, June 6, that group will transition to the other high school and explore the next three CTE pathways. On Tuesday, June 6, students will then select their top choice for the pathway in which they would like to spend the final three days of the program.

Because district transportation will not be provided for the program, families will be responsible for transporting their students to the high schools each day of the program.

More information about specific schedules will be provided as we approach the end of the school year.
